Introduction

Proof of industry specific training is now a requirement of Major Contractors, Event Organisers, Military and many Government run organisations. To compete for this business you must be able to prove that your company employees are qualified to required standards. The NSQ scheme is available free of charge as part of PSE Membership. Training is independently run by Human Focus International who are accredited by RoSPA and specialise in training to National Core Competence Benchmark standards in line with the Health and Safety Executive.

This web-based compliance service for Health & Safety provides PSE members, of any size, the practical tools needed to improve Health & Safety risk management and cut costs. These dual benefits of cost reduction and business improvement are partly achieved via the use of latest web technologies. Costly administrative processes are automated; training is delivered on demand; and easy to use risk management tools can be accessed, for example, via mobile phones or other portable devices.

Industry Specific

Health & Safety is a complex subject with many different hazard areas. The PSE NSQ scheme has been designed by industry experts and is the only industry specific Health & Safety training in the UK. As part of the PSE member complementary access, all of your personnel will have access to the foundation level qualification which includes the following subjects:

Independently Accredited

All PSE NSQ training courses are independently accredited by The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA). This means that RoSPA have checked and assured the technical content of the courses and that trainees receive a nationally recognised training award. When trainees complete each training course they receive a RoSPA accredited certificate.

The system enables trainees to build a training portfolio that will be widely recognised. Independent accreditation by RoSPA is very rare and very few eLearning systems have such accreditation. None have the range of courses on offer through Human Focus.

How it works

Each organisation is assigned their own highly secure, online, password protected account. The web-application provides both an eLearning (training) system along with risk management tools for completing tasks such as risk assessments. This is a flexible service that can be moulded to suit the needs of any organisation - whatever the size or activity. Larger employers may want to selectively use training courses to fill gaps in existing arrangements. Conversely, smaller organisations may wish to use all aspects to build from scratch a risk management system. However the system is used, trained operatives are on-hand to help you set-up and run the account. Health & Safety specialists are also available via this helpline to answer specific questions or concerns.

Once you have successfully completed the training course and uploaded your photograph to the NSQ website, you will be issued with an NSQ identity smart card. *There is a one off charge of £10 per card which can be paid for by credit card.

Another great benefit of the NSQ scheme is that all training records are stored online and can be viewed at any time by anyone with internet access and log in details. This allows external parties such as Health and Safety Managers on sites to verify the qualifications of any member of your staff at any time. All qualified personnel have a photo identity smart card so that their identity and qualifications can be verified.
